LAND BOARD.
The meeting of the' Auckland' Lane! Board was continued yesterday, the Commissioner (Mr. J. Mackenzie) presiding. There were alio present: Messrs. A. R. Harris, J. Renshaw, M. W. Armstrong, and W. McCardle. Timber -Dams and Flotage Licenses: (Permission was granted to David Goldie to erect a dam on a branch of the Oruaiti River, subject to R. Campbell withdrawing objection. The Leyland-O'Brien Timber Company was granted a one year's renewal of timber floating license over the Wharokawa, subject to tha Commissioner's approval. ■ A timber floating license over the Pataue River was granted to David Goldie. Thirds and Halves: Schemes for expenditure of "thirds"Raglan County Council, £41 18s 2d; Whangarei County Council, £159 lis 8d; and Maumi Read Board. £274 7s 6d—were approved, and schemes foi expenditure of halves"—Whangarei County Council. £138 17s 9cl; Otamatca, £552 8,3 6d. and Hobson County Council—and a proposal of West, Taupo County to pay £170 12s id into the public account; were left with the Commissioner to deal with. Land at Ohinemuri ■ Tins Board declined the application of John Wade for It* acres in Block IX., Ohinemuri .survey district, under the Mining District Land Occupation Act, applicant to be informed that the Board was prepared to consider the- application under H.P.L. regulations. Application Refused: The application of John Roddick, of Rakauroa, for 1G97 acres, Block Till., Urutnwo survey district, was refused, land to be opened for selection when other sections in (he same ' locality were ready for disposal under part 3 of the Land •Act. Church Site: The Board agreed to recommend the Ministe. to approve of a sale to the Presbyterian Church trustees of the freehold of section M, Tanentua village, for the. purpose of erection of a Presbyterian church thereon, at £20 for the half-acre, in terms of section 64, sub-section 1, Land for Settlement Act, 1900. Land for Selection: It was resolved, to throw open, under part 3 of the Land Act, section 29, Block V.. Waitoa survey district, 252 acres 3 roods 10 perches, at 17s M per acre: section 17, Block 1., Opuawhnm,a survey district. 440 acres, at 15s per acre: and section 1, Block X.. Whansapc survey district, 1022 acres, at 15s per acre; and under section 121 of the Land Act. section 9a, Block X., Maketu survey district, 131 acres, at 12s 6d per aero.. .'..-."•,,
