Dr. Owen war. a passenger from" GUborne by the Talune yesterday. Judge Chapman and Messrs. Slater and Brown, of the Arbitration Court, left for New Plymouth yesterday by the Rarawa. Captain J. B. Rainey, ~>f the New Zealand staff of the Tyser line, is at present in Auckland, and leaves for Napier on Saturday by the Talune. Mr. A. B. J. liviue, the local manager for the Union S.S. Company, who has been on a. visit to Australia and the South, returned to Auckland yesterday by the Talune. Mr. P. Wallace, chief engineer of the turbine steamer Maheuo. proceeds to Dumbarton early next month for the purpose of superintending the construction of machinery for the Union Company's new steamers to be built at Denny's yards. Mr. Jas. Dunlop late chief engineer of the Loongana, will transfer to the Maheno.
