LAND SETTLEMENT.
ASSETS BOARD'S ESTATES. It is understood that at a meeting: of the Auckland Crown Lands Board, held yesterday, at which Mr. A. Barron, chairman of the Assets Board, and Mr. R. Hall, "Government adviser in land matters, were present, Mr. Jas. Mackenzie, commissioner, presiding. : the estates acquired from the Assets Board, amounting to about 60,000 acres, wore considered and certain recommendations wore made. 'L lis land in question is situated at, Okoroire, Paeroa, Panarama. To Rati, Rielunond Downs, aitoa, and Okania. The Piako block of 97,000 acres was also considered. It was reported at the meeting that about 37,000 acres of Crown land had been taken up in the Auckland district during the past month. Mr. Barron went South in the afternoon.
