Napier, Thursday. The Chamber of Commerce, in view of the projected tariff revision, has resolved to ask the Minister for Customs to give reasonable notice of the reductions to be effected, so that traders may be allowed time to dispose of the stocks in their warehouses before the reductions come into force. It is pointed out that this was not done when the tariff was last revised, with i«*e result that traders suffered heavy loss. The cooperation of other chambers is to be invited. ;'. The Bunediu Star states that when tariff revision is tackled next session the Government will propose that the duty on potatoes be either abolished or materially reduced. .......
