16.1 lid: total, £1015 12s sd. The adoption of the report and balance-sheet, on the motion of Mr; C. Grey, and seconded bv Mr., Woods, was carried. The following resolution, proposed by Mr. Win. Cooper, and seconded by Mr O. Grey, was carried: —"That Ibis meeting of Avondalt ratepayers desires to express its continued confidence in the Road Board as at present constituted, and regrets that the limited resources of the Board should be unnecessarily taxed by the expenses of a contested by-election."
