HUNTING.

The inaugural meet for this season of the Pakiiianc/s Hunt. Club took place on Saturday under most auspicious conditions. There was a clear, cloudless sky. and it was.not surprising that, a large gathering assembled at Otahuhu, where luncheon was provided at. the Criterion Hotel before proceeding to Mr. Isaac Gray's 'property at, Papatoetoe. The selection of this place for the opening run proved a most happy one, and seldom, if ever, has a more enjoyable first day l>een experienced by followers of the hounds. dition, and,, besides running truly, proved exceptionally fast, and reflected great, credit oil thfc huntsman, Mr. Selby. They were rewarded by a kill as the result of the first: run of the day: The club have been for-

tunate in securing Mr, H. T. Gorrie as master for the season. It is intended to include Waiuku and Pukefcohe within the sphere of the club's operations this year, & large number of enthusiasts in these districts being-desirous of regular visits of the hounds. Tho fixtures for the month have not been definitely arranged as yet, but due notification will be given in the advertising columns of the Herald.
