The Fukckura Road Board met on Thursday la&t.

there being present: Messrs. R. Fisher (chairman), R. Reynolds, J. Anderson, .1. Kelly, and K. Mor.rison. A special meeting was first held to confirm a resolution making an annual recurring rate of one-sixth of a penny in the £ to meet the interest and sinking fund in connection with the Board's share of -the cost of the Cambridge high level bridge. The ordinary meeting was then held. Accounts totalling £91 18s lid were passed for payment. / The chairman said he had not yet heard whether the Board's application for a loan for the high level bridge had been granted. He had , hopes, however, that they would be successful. The annual meeting followed, but no other ratepayers attended. The credit balance in the bank and in hand amounted to £282, which, with the Government'subsidy, left over £300 to come and go on. Altwood applied for the lease of an unused reserve* He offered a nominal rental and agreed to keep it clear of pois-e, etc. It was resolved that the Board inspect the reserve. In connection with the lease of its reserves, the members thought that, in future preference should be given to those persons who now pay their rents promptly.
