NEW ZEALAND ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION. AMATEUR AND PROFESSIONAL SPORT. [BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Wklli.vgton, Saturday. A meeting of the Wellington centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic; Association considered the question .of reciprocity between amateur and professional bodies. A resolution was passed to the effect that the centre was unable to entertain any suggestion which would lead to the association of amateur with professional sport. It was also resolved to recommend the council of the New Zealand Amateur Association to appoint a representative well versed in amateur sport to tour the colony with a view to placing amateurism 011 a proper basis, arid that he various centres be asked to contribute towards the expenses of the organiser. It was further decided to apply : for permission to hold the Wellington centre championship meeting on New Year's Day.
