NEW ZEALAND EXHIBITION.

At a meeting of the local Advisory Committee of the New Zealand International Committee a report received from the subcommittee stated that a considerable; number of manufacturers had declined to exhibit, as the cost would be out of proportion to any probable return from ail adequate display. These firms said it would cost front £500 to £1000 to arrange a. satisfactory exhibit. Fear was expressed that some who hud applied for space would draw back on account, of the expense. Disappointment was expresed at the result, and it was decided to leave the allotment of space in the Otago block to the Commissioner. So far 3999 ft have i.een, applied for. It was decided to apply to the local bodies for funds. At a meeting of delegates to the New Zealand Bowling Association it was decided to hold an exhibition tournament in Christchurch on January 14, 1907. The resolutions recently adopted by the executive were passed after considerable discussion. These provide for the tournament being managed by the New Zealand' Association, with a sub-committee from the Northern Association. Dek'gales were appointed to confer with delegates from the Northern Association and the Canterbury centre and arrange details. It was suggested that the programme should provide for rink matches, the competition to be divided into eight sections of eight rinks, each rink in A" section to play every other rink in the section. A further suggestion was that the doubles and singles should be played on the "sudden death" principle, and if time permitted that a consolation doubles be played. The association is to issue imitations to bowlers generally throughout Australasia. Dr. Thomas and the Canterbury centre, are to bo asked to name any special person or clubs to be invited.
