THE CEMETERY BRIDGE.
A meeting Of the Grafton and Karangahaipe Road sub-committees, formed with the object of furthering be erection of the proposed cemetery bridge, was held in the Foresters' Hall, Newton, last evening. Mr. Graves Aickin was in the chair, and there was a large attendance. The meeting decided to issue circulars containing information a,bout tie bridge, and to distribute these among the ratepayers, together with a number of lithograph plans, showing the difference between the proposed traffic and foot bridges. On, the motion of Mr. Speddiug, it was resolved to initiate a guarantee fund to meet the expenses incurred. A number of guarantors were immediately forthcoming. It was also decided to form a committee in I'onsonbv, with a view to furthering the movement.
