London, February 6. Merchants are rushing great* quantities of British manufactures and American foodstuffs, into Germany in view of the forthcoming increase of duties.

'12 per cent.; dyed. 80 per cent. ; silk twist (of taw silk), 115 per cent: a, few eia.-ses of woollen and half woollen goods. 15 to 30 per cent. ; cotton manufactures, increase ot 30 percent.; 53 to 85 pe. cent. on boots and shoes, 100 per cent, on gloves; iron goods. 80 to 270 per cent. : machinery and tools, 30 to 50 percent, increase. Germany has yet to make a treaty with, 3 lie United States, and Britain has a year-to-year agreement under which she gets "moistfavoured nation" treatment.
