Mr. C. H. Bennett, manager of the Waitaia gold mine (Kuaotunu) has lodged with the Rank of New Zealand 30oz 15dwt ot melted bullion from the plates and bcrdans. The value (approximately) is £95.

WAIOTAHT. A RECORD RETURN. £15.876 FROM 875 TONS ORE AND 1222 m PICKED STONE. FRESH DEVELOPMENT AT No. j LEVEL. During the month of January, the Waiotalii Cold Mining Company crushed and treated 875 tons of general ore, and lOcwt 1021b of picked stone, for the .splendid yield of 53520z lodwt of melted gold, valued at £15,876 12s 2d. The company thus opens operations lor 1906 with a record output, the amount won representing an increase of no less than £5875 12s 2d. over the previous highest return, that for the three weeks of December month, when 755 tons of ore, and 6cwt of picked stone- yielded 44030z lOdwt of melted sold, of the value of £11.992. A parcel of five loads of genera] ore from the Gallant mine at Coromaudel was recently treated at Martin Brothers' battery, on behalf of Mr. A. R. McNeil, for a yield of soz 7d\vt, valued at £5 per ounce. A pound of specimen stone was also treated, and viclded 2oz 6dwt, the total value being about £21.
