[BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION*.] Haweka, Friday. The band contest concluded to-day. Final Test: Wanganui, 116; Woolston, 115; Timaru, 105; Palmerston, 101; Taranuki, 93. Wanganui thus wins the £50 prize for the quickstep, and £100 for the tests. E Flat Cornet: J. J. McGrath (Woolston), 96; J. Trussel (Wanganui), 95; S. Tombs (Palmerston), 91; W. Nicholls (Stratford), 90, K. Mara (South Canterbury), 83. B Flat Baritone: G. Jensen (Wanganui Garrison), 91 ; S. Barton (Woolston), 89 ; J. Dephoff (South Canterbury Battalion), 86; R. Tierney (Rtuhine), 85. The association officials are delighted with the general arrangements 'tod the conduct of the contest. It is not known yet how the finances will turn out, but a slight loss is expected.
