MINING AGENTS REGISTRATION FEE.

Greymouth, Friday. In the District Court Judge Haselden allowed the appeal in the case of Bent versus Hope. Wardens Day and Acheson previously decided that the respondent, a registered mining agent under the Mining Act. 1897, was exempt from the payment of the fee prescribed by the regulation of May, 1902. made under the Act of 1890. Mr. Haselden reversed the Wardens' decisions, and held that all mining agents, no matter when registered, must pay the annual registration fee of one guinea.
