ANNIVERSARY REGATTA.

RECORD ENTRIES. The Anniversary Regatta takes place on Monday next, and so far as can bo seen it promises to be the most successful of recent years. Messrs. Huddart, Parker and Co. have kindly placed their fine steamer Zealandia at the disposal of the committee as flagship, and she will bo moored in midstream, off the end of the Queen-street Wharf. A great deal of interest is centred in the race for trading vessels, which has been revived, after being allowed to fall into abeyance for some year-. The race will be once more sailed around Tiritiri, and the time of finishing the race has been extended until the first boats complete the course. Entries were received for the various events on the programme at the Waitemata Hotel last night, and were a record for number, the entrance money handed in being £70. The following are the entries: — Trading vessels, all-comer.-, any rig excepting cutters, 22 tons register and upwards: Era, Zior. Herald, Reliance, Havoc. Isabel, Vesper. Post entries will be received for this event from vessels not in port last night. Open Handicap Yacht Race (first-class): Ariki, Thelma, Moana, Ida, Rainbow. Fishing Boats (handicap): Little .Jim, Cooec, Lilian, Schoplo, White Heather. Bona-fide Cruising Yachts (not. exceeding 30ft wat-erline, handicap): Ran?atira. Ladye Wilma, Windward, Anona, Ngatira, Thistle. . Half-decked Centreboard Yachts, 26ft overall and under (tuck stern): Tere. Maru, Olympia, Flora. Ac-raria, Glady, Emerad Why Not, Mistletoe, Tiro. Speed Launch Race (over 10 knots) : Slim Jim. Grey Witch, Togo. Motor Launches (including steam, seven knots and under .10): Matareka, Tempest, Ikatere. Union, Taihoa, Alleyne, Rewa, Whakatau.

Motor Launches (including steam): Venture, Baby Lozier, Esma, Hautiti, Lozior, Rangatira, Blue Bell, Waione. Other events on the programme arc a man-o'-war cutter race, in which it is expected that several boats from IT.M.s. Prometheus will • compete; a pulling race for foreign-going merchant vessels' boats; yachts' dingeys; a cigar and umbrella race, a tin whistle race, duck hunt, greasy boom, etc.
