ANGLICAN THEOLOGICAL EXAMINATION.

FINE RECORD FOR ST. JOHN'S COLLEGE.

At the close- of but year the Anglican theological grade examinations for candidates for Holy Orders were held throughout New Zealand. The students at St. John's College, Tainaki, have been very successful, and apparently have taken all the exhibitions offered by the Hoard for proficiency in special subjects. Six candidates from the college and two others from Auckland, outside the college, .-.at for examination. The grades were of increasing difficulty, and of the 'college students the following were successful:—

Grade 111.—First class: It. A. Macdonald, with exhibition of £20. Second class: H. X. Wright, with Helvcn exhibition of £10.

tirade ll.—First class: J. K. Holloway and R. Anderson, each gaining an exhibition of £20, and W. F. Stent. Second class: C. Palmer.

Grade I.—First class: J. K. Holloway (first on list).

Of the outside candidates from Auckland the following successes are recorded: — Grade lll.—Third class: R.Cottle. Grades 11. and I.—Second class: J. Fussell.

This give* St. John's five first classes, two seconds, and four exhibitions, in competition with the other Anglican theological colleges of the colony.
