SEAMEN'S DISPUTE. . j The hearing of the dispute between tlio ! Auckland branch of the Federated Seamen'sUnion and certain shipowners was continued before His Honor Mr. Justice Chapman and Messrs., 11. Slater and J. Brown at the Arbitration Court yesterday :On behalf of the shipowners evidence was given by Captain C. F. Hopkins, of the Waiotahi; Captain Stephenson, of the Ngapuhi, 1 and Mr. J.- J. 'Ker, accountant for the N.S.S. Co. Mr. William Laird, assistant superintendent engineer to the N.S.S. Co.,'. submitted a statement to show what the addition cost to his company would be if the sea-men's demand* were granted. . The Court will sit again this morning to take evidence, but no decision will be given in the dispute until evidence has been taken in i the four large shipping cities of the colony. .
