MEMBER FOR -WELLINGTON
CENTRAL,
HIS POSITION IN THE HOUSE. r [BY TELEGRAPH.— OWN correspondent.] ' Christchurch, Tuesday. 1 Mb.. F. MB. Fisher, M.H.R. for Weifc lington Central, who will ■ be his own party and Lis own Whip in the next Par- . liament, for that is how he put it to a 1 Truth'reporter, is back in Christchurch, looking fresh and vigorous after a. campaign of which he states kept him going j day and night..' ':'; ■■'.:. ,' J " I'm the remaining quarter of tho New Liberal party, the 25 per cent, that is in , the. new House. I will bo 'the great ' Middle. Party' that will keep both sides in order," Mr. Fisher jocularly replied, in answer .to a question as to what his position would be during the session of 1906. ... Tho victory of the Government at the polls he dismissed in a few words. "They can say it was the voucher if they like," ho declared. "If it was, all I have got to say is that it was the bust thing that ever happened to this colony." Ho firmly believes that the victory.of ■ Seddonism on Wednesday last will eventually result, in a great internal upheaval, and new Opposition will be evolved from out . the Government. The Opposition of Mr. i. Fisher's dreams will consist of members who are sick of Seddonism, and are imbued with ' progressive Liberal ideas. '. The Premier is said to be disgusted at ■ Mr. Fisher's return. The latter understands that Mr. Seddon has declared that he * would rather have lost ten seats than sec his opponent back in public life. During" the session of 1906 Mr. Fisher will have a free hand. There will be no New Liberals, but there will be criticism nevertheless.. : 7. * . ' [BY TELEGRAPH. ASSOCIATION".] Wellington, Tuesday.
