FIGHTING IN NEW HEBRIDES.

Nijws from Noumea says a French warship, which has arrived from New Hebrides, reports that the British warship Pegasus land«l a force at "Bushman's Bay recently, and surprised the village of Nevaar. Fighting took place, and five natives were killed, several wounded, and 50 captured. The villagers had frequently attacked whites, and had challenged the warships to attack them. This is the third naval raid made ns* cently in the New Hebrides. ;i The. first* '■■'::;IP_ was made by a party from the French warship Meurthe, and the second by parties from the Meurthe and the Pegasus, of the Australasian squadron, acting together. The natives have murdered several Euro- j; '? pean settlers. .
