CANTERBURY COLLEGE.
[by telegraph.— ASSOCIATION.] Christchcrch, Monday. The Board of Governors of Canterbury College, at a meeting: to-day, adopted the recommendation of the College Committee that the sum received from college students by way of special fines for recent breaches of discipline should be expended in purchasing books for the. college library. It was also decided that owing to the inability of the Inspector-General of Schools to accede to the request of the board to undertake the examination of high schools this year, the ordinary examinations s should bo dispensed with, and that arrangements should be made for the examinations required for the allocation of prizes.
