Fleming, a junior, 'played a good game for the B team, and scored their only goal. Audinwood, for the A's, played an attractive game, and was, perhaps, the best back on the field. The A's were without the services of Bayly in goal. SECOND GIUDE. Corinthians v. Ivanhne.—Thin match was played on the Domain, and resulted in a win. for Corinthians by one goal to nil. THAMES MATCHES. [BY TELEGRAPHOWN CORRESPONDENT.] Thames, Saturday, After a spoil of three weeks the hockey fixtures were resumed this afternoon, when Thames met the Young Hen's Club. The result of the match was a decisive win for, the Young Men, who beat the champions by seven goals to two. The Thames Club played a miserable game, and the backs allowed Shaw and Wlutakcr to piss them frequently and score at pleasure. The first spell ended: Young' Men three goals, Thames one. With a change of ends It was expected the Thames Club would liven up a bit, but they went from bad to worse, and seemed to have no interest in the game. The Young Men added four more goals, while Thames secured but one. Unfortunately, with some of the players the game is degenerating into wilful brutality, and unless the association protects its members the game of hockey, which is evidently getting a firm hold on the Thames, will certainly meet a speedy termination. GOLF. The semi-finals for the Auckland championship were played at One-tree Hill on Saturday afternoon, when .7. C. Burns met and defeated W. B. Colbeck by three up and one to play, and W. N. Heather was defeated by H. I). Bamford, r who finished two up on Ids opponent. Bfftcs played a good sound game throughout, and starting well from the outset, got a substantial lead of four up. Colbeck pulled this down to one up, but at the fourth hole Burns stood two up, and kept that position until the 17th, which he succeeded in winning, thus finishing three up and one to play. Banjford was four up on Heather at the sixth hole, but by a determined effort the latter managed to win the next four, and stood one up at the 11th. This was won by Bamford, the next two holes were halved, and the 17th and 18th fell to the winner in lite and four respectively. The final, 30 holes, will bs played between Ultras and Bamford next Saturday.
