KING OSCAR'S PRAYER.

KIXG Oscak has issued the following manifesto to the people of Sweden in- response to the many telegrams of sympathy and devotion which he has received: —"The 'revolution which the State Council and the Storthing of Norway have brought, about against their King and their brother-people by breaking the sacred laws to which they took an oath lias inflicted deep, yes, incurable wounds on my heart. Amid the cares in which this illegal step has involved me, it has indeed been an indescribable consolation to receive the manifold proofs of true affection which have reached me from far and near, from men and women 0.1 every age and every class in Sweden, verbally, in. writing, and by telegraph. Accept iii return, each and all of you, the warmest thanks of your aged King. From •a heart deeply moved 1 utter these words: ' God bless my Swedish people. That is the warmest, most heartfelt prayer which during the remainder of my life I will offer up to the Most High.' "
