. St. George's Rowing Club's annual meeting takes place in the clubhouse, Judge's Bay, Parnell, on September 20. Messrs. Logan Bros, shipped to South Africa last week a patiki yacht, which they nave built to the order of a yachtsman at Johannesberg. Waitemata Boating Club's annual social and presentation of prizes took place last Tuesday evening, and proved a very pleasing function. The following contributed items to the programme:—Songs, Mrs. Winters, Messrs. H. Wood and A. Andrews; recitation, Mr. Macquarrie; whistling solo, Mr. E. Aylett; and instrumental selection by Messrs. A. J. Fernandez, H. Demies, and A. Grace. The club's thanks are due to the above for their kind assistance. lonsonby Cruising Club have just had prepared a shield of Auckland yachts for presentation to Sir- Thomas Linton, the well-known British yachtsman. The shield, which has been placed in a very handsome frame, comprises views of a large number of the Auckland yachts, and makes a very pleasing picture. AUCKLAND ROWING CLUB. The Auckland Rowing Chili's 36th annual meeting, held a few weeks ago, proved the most enthusiastic and best-attended annual meeting held in the history of the club, out of an active membership of 82 no less than 70 bein- in attendance, which indicates a bright future fo, the club. The club is very fortunate in again securing Mr. Win. Coleman as president and Mr. P. E. N. Crombie as commodore, both gentlemen always displaying great interest in the management of the club and assisting it in a practical manner. The new secretary (Mr. D. Allen) and treasurer (Mr. H. Ruiiciman) arc at present- busily <Hi"-«<rcd making preliminary arrangements for the incoming season in conjunction with the club's popular captain and deputy-captain. Lynx.
