GOLF.

The semi-final of the Auckland Coif Club championship will he played at, One-tree Hill this afternoon. Col beck plays Burns, and \V. Heather plays Bamforcl. The struggle ill each case should be a close one, the first match being especially interesting. Colbeck put up a brilliant round last Saturday in his match against Lusk, but Burns is also in exceptionally good form at the present time, and should make an excellent fight with his more experienced opponent.

Although beaten five up and four to play in his match against Colbeck last week, H. B. Lusk put up a very creditable performance, and it should not be long before he is brought down to the immediate neighbourhood of the scratch mark.

H. Gilfillan ran W. Heather very close in his match, being only beaten by two up. Tim entries for the New Zealand championship meeting close on Saturday, September 9. By way of entertainment to the visiting golfers the local Committee is organising a dinner for Saturday, September 23, and the support already accorded by the members of the dub ensures a complete success.
