CHARGE OF HORSE STEALING.

GISBORNB, Friday. Josbvh CROOK, on a charge of horse stealin,,, was brought before the Police Court again this morning. The statement of Sergeant Phair, of Rotorua, was read. Accused consented to its admission, and, in reply to the Court, said be had no statement to make in his defence. Sergeant Mackenzie stated that the saddle and bridle bad also been brought back to Osborne. The probation officer's report being favourable, Crook -as admitted, to probation for 12 months, conditional on his paying within nine months all costs.
