CO. The manager of the New Una Gold Mining Company (Thames) reports having crushed 19 .loads of quartz for a return of 21oz ldwt of melted gold, valued at £56 16s Bd. HIDDEN TREASURE G.M. CO. The Investigation Committee, appointed at the recent special meeting of shareholders in the Hidden Treasure Gold Mining Company, have prepared a report, which will be presented to a meeting, to be held this evening at the Federal Hall, Wellesley-street. WAIOTAHI G.M. CO. j [Br TELEGKAFH.—OWN COBBESFONDENT.] Thames, Thursday. In the Waiotahi mine the work of squaring up the bottom of the winze below the No. 4 level has been continued since yesterday, but as yet no definite, conclusion can be arrived at as to the exact effect of the small break running through the reef. It will take another clay or two before this can be decided. At the No. 5 level the end of the drive is being widened, so as to strip the stringers running parallel with the main reef, and the principal leader has opened out in size, and appears to be making into a strong body of quartz going towards the winze., of much the same appearance as the quartz in the winze. It is carrying the same ctass of mineral, and there is little doubt that it will turn out to be tho same body of quartz being sunk on which contains the mineral band at the eastern end of the block. Prom present indications gold may be expected to make in it at any time.

KURANUI-CALEDONIAN G.M. CO. [by telegraph.—own correspondent.] Thames, Thursday. Good progress has been made with the No. 4 level crosscut in the Kuranui-Cale-donian mine since connecting with the winze from No. 3 level, a distance of 30ft having been driven. This leaves another 20ft to complete the distance necessary to cut the Cambria reef. The country in the face is still all that could be desired, and as the Reel Queen leaders carried payable gold down to within a short distance of where the reef is expected to be cut, there ought to be a fair prospect of a payable block of ground being opened up in this section of the mine. MINE MANAGERS' REPORTS. New Una G.M. Co. (Thames, August 22): No. 3 reef—The No. 8 atone was squared up to the end of the ground during the week. The work in progress at present is the continuation of the No. 9 atope, and rising for No. 10 stope. The surrounding country is all that could be desired. The reel varies in size frequently, and the quartz continues to bear a kindly appearance. The main crosscut that is being put in in a southerly direction, to intersect well-known reefs that exist in that locality, is again being continued. The country that is being penetrated at present, though firm, i"» of a congenial nature for containing goldbearing lodes. DUNBDIN STOCK EXCHANGE. [BY TELEGRAPH.— ASSOCIATION.] DUNEDIsr, Thursday.
