' A proposal to allow fees to be charged for I admission to parks is contained in a short I measure just circulated in (he Victorian i State Parliament relating to municipal pleasine grounds. It is intended to give municipalities power to make by-laws to charge i at all times or on particular occassions ! entrance feus for clubs, associations, and per--1 sons using pleasure grounds or places of ' public resort or recreation, the money to be devoted to keeping the grounds in order, and making them more attractive. The by-law may authorise the holding 01 musical penoimances on these grounds, and charging admission. No charge or fee may be imposed in contravention of the express terms J of any grant or gift of the land.
