ANCIENT ORDER OF FORESTERS.

The first meeting of the Auckland district Ancient Order of Foresters under the new system of half-yearly movable meetings was held in the Waihi Foresters' Hall this • afternoon. There were present: W. L, Rowland, district chief ranger; A. Harris, district sub-ohief ranger; James Stichbury, distriot treasurer; and A. E. Green- < slade, district beadle; and the following delegates:—Brothers James Robinson, J. Oarlaw, jun., A. Campbell, J. Anderson, J.i Fairweather (Court City of Auckland), C. F. Andrews, Alex Lowrie, S. G. Lee (Court Nil Desperandum, Auckland), W. M. Neumegen, J. Webley (Court Zealandia, Auckland), J. W. Poulgrain, S. C. Muir (Court Pride of Parnell, Thames), W. Taylor (Court Pride of the North, Thames), F. Walker, W. C. Watts (Court Pride of Onehunga), J. Brady (Court Northern Wairoa, Darga-.* ville), A. Smith (Court Pride of Newmarket, Auckland), J. R. The report of executive, in thanking the Court Waihi for their invitation to hold the half-yearly meeting at Waihi, ■ congratulated Court Waihi upon the strides made since its formation in 1895. With a membership of 177, the funds amount to £675 for nine years' work. The district executive had paid the large amount of £310 • as funeral money during the past six , months. In consequence of Brother A. 13. reenslade being elected district beadle, Brother Ramsay had been appointed auditor in his stead. Amendments to the laws passed at. the January meeting had so far not been registered, as the registrar had made alterations to laws which the amend- • ments did not refer to, and which the executive refused to entertain. Reasons had been sent to the registrar for the refusal to agree with the alterations made by the revising. barrister, and a request was made for the . immediate registration of the amendments. ■The executive had paid numerous official visits to courts during the past six months. The balance-sheet showed that the. funds of the district aggregated £9101, there being a credit balanoe in the funeral fund of £8171, in management fund of £367, and in . the guarantee fund of £562. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. Brother Leo was re-elected auditor and, book examiner. The following nominations; were made for district officers: —District chief ranger, A. Harris; district sub-chie! ranger, A. E.
