Rear-Admiral Kruger, commanding the cruiser Rostilav (8800 tons), and the battleship Sinop -(10,000 tons), and Admiral Vyshorevebky, commanding the battleships Georgi Pobiedonosteff (10,000 tons), and the Tri-Sviatelia (12,480 tons), the cruiser Dvenada Apostolov (8800 tons), the torpedo cruiser Kazarsky, and several tor-pedo-boats, proceeded from Sebastopol to Odessa. ,_ . On arriving there the flagship signalled, ordering the Kniaz Potemldne to join the fleet immediately. The Kniaz replied, asking the admiral to come aboard. Receiving no answer, the Kniaz Potemldne cleared for action and steamed at full speed along the whole line-of'the fleet, and passed so close that the features of her commander, who was wearing civilian dress, were clearly distinguishable.
