[BY telegraph.—owit CCREESPOJfDEHT.] ; • Waihi, Saturday. • During the quarter ended 30th ulv... 66 births;, ,15 deaths, and 16 marriages were registered at Waihi. A very enthusiastic meeting of musical people; was held on Thursday night, Mr. Tracy Knight presiding. ' It was decided to form a brass band, about 22 good players agreeing to join. Mr. E. Q. B. Moss, M.H.R., was elected patron; Mr. 3-Taser, president; Mr. Benner, rice-president; Mr. Harris, secretary; and Mr. F. Flatt, treasurer. A strong committee was appointed, and it is anticipated that the newly-formed ■ band will be an acquisition to the town. " : r '
