COMPETITION FOR MRS. CLARK'S CUP. THE competition for Mrs. Clark's Cup. took place at the Penrose range, on Saturday afternoon. The conditions provided foi seven shots and one sighter at 300 yds, 500 yds, and 600 yds, all those 15 points below the highest; scorer at the completion of the firing at 500 yds, to be counted out. Thirty entered for the competition, nineteen of whom wen? counted out. The winner proved to be Privat© Carlseti, with the good score of 99 point®. The best range scores at 300 yds, were:—Carlsen 33, Private White 31, and W. Rowe 29. A rifle match was fired at Kohukohu recently. between teams representing the Ho!kianga Mounted Rifles and the Kohukohu Rifle Club. The match was for Mr. A. 8. Audrevres' challenge cup, and the firing was at the 300 yds, 500 yds. 600 yds, seven shots and a sighter (Bisley targets), -at each distance. The ranges were 200 yds and 500 yds, with seven shots at each range. The right half won comfortably, the. scores being: — Right half, 551; left half, 408. Tho trophies will now competed for by the members of the right half company. [BT TELEGRAPH. —FHESS ASSOCIATION.] Christchukcji, Sunday. The annual volunteer church parade of the North Canterbury No. 1 and No. 2 Battalions, took place in the Anglican Cathedral this morning. There . was a record muster on parade, the figures totalling quite 800. After the parade a 16 years' service medal was presented to Staff-Captain Chambers, and 12 years' service medals to Gunners J.
