DEATH OF MR. T.W. GLOVER.
Nkws has been received of the death at Portland (U.S.A.), of Mr. T. W. ulover, the well-known temperance lecturer of New Zealand. The deceased gentleman reached America in February ■ last 011 a lecturing tour, but in consequence of failing health bis engagements had to be cancelled. Thouorh an entire stranger in Portland, where he was taken ill, the report of his temperance work had preceeded him, and brought to him the kindly ministrations of helpful friends. Every attention was given him, but without avail, and death resulted on March 7. Mr. ({lover was horn in Ross, Herefordshire, England, in 1843. Taking the total abstinence pledge at the age of nine, his entire life, was spent in the cau.Q of temperance reform. He was honoured in the highest offices in the Good Templars, and wrought for the cause lie loved in many lands, including England. Canada, United States, Australia, and New Zealand. In New Zealand heSpent 10 consecutive yens, and accomplished the organisation of t lie New Zealand Alliance. As a speaker lie was resourceful, vigorous, humorous, and eloquent.
