Ciiristchcrch, Saturday. Mr. K, Wilkinson, vice-president of the Fruit grower#' Association, in a lecture upon the", potato disease, said that after making a microscopical examination of diseased potatoes,' there could be no doubt that the fungus had been in Canterbury for the past 10 or 15 years stagnating, but. last year, being a wet season, had brought the disease to light. He recommended that seed potatoes should be stored in lighted and ventilated sheds, and nob pitted, and that too stimulating manures should not Ik>. iwd.
