Brisbane, April 29. At the annual meeting of the Brisbane Chamber of Commerce last night, tie president attributed the bad results of the year to '.ho di>eonrsgeiunit given to private eaterprise, and to the effects of Federal legislation. The Minister for Agriculture said the Government would not he forced by the Social* ists. The Labour platform was rapidly becoming socialistic, and its trend was to undermine the throne, the altar, and the family. If the sugar bonus were not extended there would be a wave of feeling that would sever Queensland from "this accursed Federal union.'' Adelaide, April 29. At the annual meeting of the: Chamber of Commerce, held here, the president said that after righting the drought for years they were now threatened with socialism, which they would have to light with all their strength.

Mr. Reitl explains that his attitude of neutrality in regard to the fiscal question, in order to right socialism, will not prevent ths removal of anomalies found by the Royal Commission to exist in the tariff. Tht only way to fight the Socialistic party, ha adds, is to make the fiscal question an open one.
