NEW SECRETARY FOR IRELAND.
Official announcement is made of the appintment f Walter Hume Long, president of the Local Government Board, to succeed Wyndham as Chief Secretary for Ireland. Gerald Balfour, president of the Board of Trade, succeeds Mr. Long ; the Marquis of Salisbury, Lord of the Privy Seal, becomes president of the Board of Trade, retaining his former office, and Aihvyn Fellows, Junior Lord of the Treasury, is appointed president of the Board of Agriculture, succeeding the Earl of Onslow, who recently was appointed chairman of a committee in the House of Lords.
