INTEREST ON GOVERNMENT STOCKS.
AGREEMENT AMONG THE STATES.. (Received April 29, 1.5 a.m.) By Telegraph Press Association Copyright. Sydney, April 28. The Premier recently opened negotiations with the other States in respect to the rate of interest on Government securities and new issues thereof. Victoria, South Australia, Queensland, and Tasmania replied' favourably, and Sir Joseph Ward, on behalf of New Zealand, concurred. After Monday next-, the New South Wales Government will issue Treasury bills at only 3£ per cent., instead of 4 per cent., and it is understood that similar action is to be taken by the other States.
