A pretty wedding was celebrated on Wednesday afternoon, at Alexandra-street Primitive M'ethtfdist Church, when Miss* M. E. Godwin, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. J-]. Godwin, of " Oxford House," College Hill, was married to Mr. W. McLeay, eldest son of Mr. McLear. Hackett-street, Pousonby. The church was beautifully decorated, and the Ker. W. 8. Potter officiated. The bride,, who was given away by her father, wore a dress of white Louisine silk, the bodice trimmed with accordion chiffon and silk applique trimming, the skirt having a iron* panel of chiffon, with French tucks and true lovers knots of chiffon "roses. t ram the l ., bftiilge blbssoin coronet depended a. tulle veil embroidered with floss; silk (a. present- from Home). The-present'of the bridegroom to the .bride was a gtilcf heartshaped • pendant,-' studded' with pearls and sapphires: The bride.carried"-an exquisite shower bouquet of'Vhife t'hrySmfiieni ums and roses, veiled with maidenhair and asparagus fern, with chiffon streamers. The bridesmaids were the Misses S. J. Godwin, iTr McW, and A. and F. E. Godwin' Mr. McLeay was attended by Messrs. J. C. McLeay, E. Jvil, J. 1). Cairns, and C. h. Hnifipton. At the conclusion of the ceremony the wedding party was entertained at the residence of ' the bride's parents. Mr. and Mrs. Godwin entertamed a largo party of guests at a dance' at the Hibernian Hall in the evening. For allowing a horse with a bad shoulder to be driven' in Wellington, the owner was fined £5 and costs, and the driver was convicted and ordered to pav the costs, lis 6d. The driver' stated that if he "had not harnessed the hOrse when ordered to do so by his employer, he would have " got the sack." The owner had been previously lined £3 in 1901 for a similar offence.
