On Friday last an interesting game of bowls was played on the Remuera green (31 heads up) between teams representing the Civil service and the legal fraternity. Two rinks were occupied, ami the Cvil servants won on the aggregate by sir points. Culpau's (Law) team got away with ,a strong lead, and were never afterwards overhauled, for although Easio.Vs men made a strong effort in the latter part ot the game, their opponents proved too good for them, finishing up fo.n points to the good. Garland's (Civil service) team scored a win over Oliphint's team by a margin of 10 points. This was a capital game from star: to finish, some line play being shown. I'p to the 21st head no less than five ties had occurred, the score at that point being 17—1!-. Garland's team then drew away, and won comfortably. Scores : Civil Servants—Senn, Rose, G. Law—Reeves, Baiter, Wynyard, Ollphant (skip)— 22. THE OXEUt'NG A GREEN. Although a large number of bowlers assembled on the Onehungu green ou Saturday play was prevented owing to the rain. Afternoon tea was provided, however, ami dispensed by Mesdames I'abst and Mooney, and the members had an enjoyable time in the pavilion. The club championship contest, is drawing to a close. E. B. Wright, last year's winner, lias scored victories in each match in his division, while W. N. MclntOi.'i is leading in the B division.
