ARMY CONTRACTS.
AUSTRALIA'S JAM SUPPLIES
SHORTAGE IN WEIGHT.

London, March 17. Mr. McXamara asked in the House of Commons last night for the names of the contractors who had supplied 1,350,816 tins of jam for the troops in South Africa, each tin weighing 12oz, instead of a pound.
The Secretary for War (Mr. An-nold-Forstor), replied that the eontracts were made in Australia through the Agents-General, and that the names of the contractors were not known at the War Office.
