THE EDUCATION QUESTION, By Telegraph.—rresi Association. Copyright. (Received March 16, 9.17 p.m.) Ottawa, March 16. Owing to the strong feeling of indignation aroused throughout Canada by the proposal to give the Catholics special educational privileges in the north-western provinces, the Premier (Sir Wilfred Laurier) has decided to modify the educational clauses in the North-west Provinces Autonomy Bill. In the Bill raising the Alberta and Saskatchewan territories into provinces, the Premier inserted a provision giving the Catholics separate schools. Three of the Ministers W. Mulock, Mr. Sifton, and Mr. Fielding— and resigned.
