HURRICANE AT FIJI.

THE NAVUA DELAYED. By Telegraph Press Association Copyright. (Received January 7, 11.24 a.m.) Suva, January 7. A stiff south-easterly hurricane has been blowing (since midnight. The glass has now (twenty minutes to twelve a.m.) sunk to 29 degrees. There is a dead lull at present, which is regarded as ominous, especially as a northerly wind is now setting in. It is supposed that a cyclone is in progress, and that the centre, which is always a dead calm, is now passing over Suva. The steamer Navua, outward bound for Auckland, is unable to leave port. So far no reports have been received from the out-districts as to damage to crops, etc. THE STORM SUBSIDING. (Received January 7, 4.20 p.m.) Suva, January 7. The storm is subsiding. The Navua has left for Auckland.
