In accordance with the decision come to by the First Sea Lord of the Admiralty (Sir John Fisher) within v. month of his appointment, 29 obsolete warships have been withdrawn from the navy list and are being sent to Queensferry to be sold on convenient occasions. Amongst the number is the battleship Superb. The original list drawn up by Sir John Fisher contained 31 vessels, and of these 29 have horn condemned. The. .Superb is a second-class battleship, built in 1875. She. carries 22 guns, is of 9170 tons, and her speed is 15 knots. The throwing out of these vessels will make 7000 oflieors and men available for more modern vessels. ■"'■■ '■
