INDIGESTION.

[BY " CHYLE."] ] The torments endured by a person, who | suffers from Indigestion are, unfortunately, ' so well known to most of us that it is not necessary that the symptoms of that modern scourge should be described. What suffer-ers-want to know is how to become permanently our^d. :-. ? •. .■■ ••• _ _.. There- are several.kinds of indigestion: Citric Catarrh, in which the-'food becomes covered /.with, -mucous, and,: consequently withstands the action of the digestive juices; Gastric Flatulency, the development of wind or gas; Gastric Diarrhoea, caused by the food being hurried through the digestive organs too fast; and Constipation, which is a Very prevalent and obstinate cause, and must be removed, s oi digestion cannot be expected to proceed. Food must he digested and bj converted into blood. '■; Nature makes this one of her most imperative laws of life. _ During the process of digestion food is entirely changed m composition by the action of the juices of the internal organ" through which it passes. In the mouth it is thoroughly mixed with the saliva. Then it ie swallowed, and enters the stomach, where - it. is acted upon by the gastric juices, and becomes partly liquefied. From the stomach it passes to .the smaller intestine—which is about-18 feet in length— and there: certain portions of the food are liquefied by the bile and other juices. The i food thus made, fluid is in a condition to be ; absorbed, into and become a constituent part lof the blood. The indigestible portion of the [ food is discharged into the larger intestine, j whence it is in turn expelled from the ! body together with other refuse matter. /Just as certainly as that it is necessary to life that - food must he absorbed, so, likewise,it is essential that the blood must be in a condition to -absorb the food. Torpidity of the; liver is the chief cause of nearly every case of indigestion, and when the liver is torpid .the kidneys • are always - sympathetically affected to a greater or lesser extent. The blood, which should be transformed, cleansed; and /filtered by the kidneys and liver, then contains urinary and biliary poisons, and is therefore a feeble absorbent of nutriment. This condition of the blood reacts upon the nervous system of the digestive organs, arid prevents the flow, and alter* the quality, of the digestive juices. The entire nerve energy of a person suffering from indigestion is weakened owing to this contaminated condition of the blood, and the general feeling of mental and physical depression, which is experienced during an attack of dyspepsia, is due to this cause. Whilst the liver is usually at fault in cases Of indigestion the kidneys have such an important share of the work of the purification •of the blood that it is often found that disease oi disorder of the kidneys is the real primary cause of the trouble. In treating fiases of indigestion, therefore, it is always advisable to employ a curative agent which will act emtally upon the liver and upon the kidneys, the object being to restore both thoss organs to health and activity, when they will naturally eliminate from the system the biliary and urinary poisons, the presence of which devitalises the blood and prevents the free absorption of food which nature demands. A remarkable medicine, now known throughout the civilised world as Warner's Safe Cure, cures indieestioi> by the power it possesses tc act specifically upon both the livei and the kidneys in such a manner as to restore them to health and vigorous activity. A. healthy and vigorous action of the liver and kidneys being established— Warner's Safe Gure doe- establish it— health follows as a matter of course. The blood is made pure, and when the blood is mire nourishment is readily absorbed, and it is impossible for anyone to suffer from indigestion or from any disorder caused by the retention of urinary arid biliary poisons. Amongst such disorders are El. mmatism, Gout. Neuralgia, Lumbago. Sciatica, most Wood Disorders, Anaemia. Biliousness. Jaundice, Gravel, Stone, Bladder Troubles, Sick Headache, and General Debility. Warner's Safe Cure cures all these disorders speedily and permanently by enabling the kidneys and liver to rid the system of the causative poisons. In other words, the cure is scientific, as the natural action of the organs is stimulated and restored.
