In obedi- -ij ence to orders, Mr. Hall and the Sadies ■/'J dismounted, and, standing in ? row, placed ' 1 all their money and jewellery on tit ground. .1 The highwayman picked them up, put them • 1 in his pocket, and ordered Mb victim 1 to ' ! empty the gasolene from the automobile j on the road. After thus protecting himsalf ■[ '. from being followed the highwayman made off towards Philadelphia, taking with him , £200 in money and about £500 worth of jewels. Half an hour afterwards Mr. Hall « was discovered by a casual passer-by is «' 1 carriage, and the automobile was towed into i Philadelphia.
