POLO.
The Remuera Polo Club will hold their annual meeting next Thursday at eight p.m. at the lower hall, Itemuera, for the election of officers for the ensuing year, and to receive the balance-sheet. The Ground Committee intend, if possible, to make better arrangements regarding the grazing of the polo field. Last year the field was very much understocked, thus necessitating a large expenditure in keeping the grass out. The height of ponies has gone up an inch, and is now on the same footing as the English clubs, the height of ponies now being 14-i hands. The opinion is largely held, however, that playing such ponies is a mistake, as it savours too much of the racehorse stylo.
