IHE WANAKA. : ' The Union Company's steamer Wanaka, with a part cargo of grain and produce from the South, left Gisborno for Auckland at § a.m. yesterday, and should arrive early this afternoon. RUN BACK The barque Kathleen Hilda, timber laden from the Themes to Melbourne, ran back into Eangitoto Channel on Thursday night, owing to the wind being unfavourable. The barquentine llajKla Isle, bound from the Thames to Sydney, with a cargo of timber, ran into Auckland yesterday morning, owing to the wind being unfavourable. THE MARAROA. The Union Company's steamer Mararoa left Napier for the North yesterday. She calls at Gisborne to-day, and ib due at this port to-morrow morning. The steamer proceeds on to Sydney at 5.30 p.m. on Monday. THE MOANA. The Union Company's steamer Moana, which left Sydney at 2.30 p.m. on Wednesday, is expected to reach Auckland to-morrow morning. After the usual medical and Customs inspection the- steamer will berth at the wharf. THE MOURA. The Union. Company's steamer Moura left Suva for Auckland yesterday, and is duo on Tuesday next. The Union Company's steamer Tarawera Captain John Rolls, arrived from Southern and East Coast ports at 8 a.m. yesterday, berthing at the Queen-street Wharf. Mr. a.. L. Ferguson, the purser, reports that the steamer left Dunedin on Saturday last, and ca'led at Lyttelton, Wellington, Napier, and Giaborne. Left the latter port at 8 a.m.. and passed the East Cape at, 2.30 p.m. on Thursday, reaching port as above, line wittier and moderate seas prevailed throughout tne passage. The Tarawera leaves for East Coast and Southern ports at noon to-day. THE ASTRAOANA. . The contractor, Mr. W. H. Brown, is Pushing on very rapidly with the repairs to the ship Astracana. which recently put into Auckland in distress. Already the. front of the poop has been finished, and the inside fittings, staterooms, and alleyways are well advanced. The whole of the iron bulwarks have been straightened up. and the stanchions straightened, and are being put m place. Iho yards are all ready for setting up. and the boats to replace those carried away are we 1 under way. Mr. Brown expects to have all the work completed in about a , fortnight, which will be well in advance of bis contract time. Messrs. .George Prase* and Sons. Limited, are carrying out all the work connected with the repairs of the ship.
