' Sir,—Last Tuesday you printed a letter of mine, in which I stated that, a proposal had recently been made to place a live Sparroy? within the receiver of an air-purftp, and experiment upon it by depriving it of air. Although that statement was honestly made, J have since found that no such ac|ion had been proposed. The advice offered was that the bodv of a dead sparrow should be experimented upon, to sli.Ovy the expansion of Rases.'
