Ferguson, of Sydney, and formerly of Otago, who has been on a tour of the world for the past nine months, is returning to Sydney by the Ventura. Messrs. C. H. Harper, of Chicago, and F. Gubin, of New York, two American young men who are touring the world, arrived by. the Ventura last, evening. . Mr. and Mrs. Kersey Cooper, of Auckland, who had been on a two years' visit to England, returned to the colony by the Papanui,'which arrived at Wellington on Sunday. On the application of Mr. S. Hesketh, His Honor Mr. Justice Edwards yesterday admitted Mr. Harrie Archdell Adams to practice as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of New Zealand. The Corouundel District High School authorities have appointed Miss M. Fuller, late of the Parnell school, to be assistant mistress to replace Miss F. M. James, appointed to the Onehunga District High School. Mr. and Mrs. S. R. Hooper leave for Sydney by the mail steamer Ventura this morning.
