RUGBY FOOTBALL. Tee second round of matches under the Auspices of the Waipa Rugby Union was wmmeneed last Saturday, when Te Awaijiutu defeated Kibikihi by eight points to tic. This win secures to Te Awamutu the ' O'Toiinor banner for the ensuing year. The Otv.-ohajjgi and Pirongila teams met on the ■ Pirongia ground, and the game resulted in » draw, a try being scored by either side. On Saturday, next, at Hamilton, an imer-union match will bo played, Waipa Union v. In the senior division Hawera and Waimate play off on Saturday for the southern championship. ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL. ■ Alexandra v. North Shore B: This match was played at Narrow Neck, Takapuna, on : v Saturday last, mid resulted in a win for Alexandra by one goal to nil. For the winners Griffin (is goal) played a brilliant game, the manner in which he kicked and handled % the ball being particularly fine. Boggs, laylor, Buckton, Austin, and Blair also played good games. Alexandra had seven or eight shots in the second half, and everyone struck the uprights. Good shooting was, however, out of question, as the field was partly under '" water. The Shore team played a very Bound game. CAMBRIDGE GOLF CLUB. The weather has been much too unfavourable at Cambridge during the past weeks to, allow of any golf being indulged in, but in anticipation of finer weather several matches have been arranged.
