THE INQUEST,
HOW THE ACCIDENT OCCURRED.
By Telegraph.— Association.—Copyright. London-, April 20. The crew of the submarine Al, which was sunk at Portsmouth through a collision wiih a liner, were buried with naval honours at Hailar Cemetery. , ' ■
The inquest concerning the accident has been opened.
Captain Bacon, commander of the submarine flotilla, deposed that Lieutenant Mansergh evidently sighted the liner when 150 ft off, and dived. With three seconds more hewould have gone clean under the liner. If the crew had not been stunned by the shock the submarine could have reached the" surface.
